Welcome
Welcome to Duane Rhodes Website!
You guessed it! I had to make a website for Duane. He didn't ask for a website but I wanted to capture his life, his passion for Bass fishing and put it out there for everyone to read. Okay, I'm not going to divulge all his deep "secrets" but I will tell you about the tournament days and just have some fun. And keep in mind Duane doesn't have a clue as to how to go on here and change what I write;-)
He has been fishing since he was 8 years old when his Uncle took him and the homemade Bamboo fishing pole to the lake, If you want to know more about Duane you can check out the "Interview" I took of him. You can read articles in "Latest News" and check out his "Statistics" page too. Also, I am going to complete the "Biography" page soon.
Me, just the wife. You know, I like to fish too. I think its something about being out there on the water in the middle of a beautiful lake and hoping a fish will take my bait, is what drives me. And yes I catch fish! Sometimes it sucks being in the back of the boat catching the "leftovers" but I do it. We work great as a team fishing since we always talk about the patterns, the baits, the water temperature, the wind, the season, and all the other factors that go into fishing.
I enjoy designing and devoping websites too! Remember," Don't get caught without a website...its a crime!"-Mendocino Webscapes
Thanx for reading and check back often!
November 15, 2009The first tournament of Won Bass 2009-2010 season was today! It was a long and fun day fishing in Clear Lake waters for the Won Bass Tournament. It was bloody cold launching from Lakeport but thats okay because as soon as we hit our first spot and Duane caught his first and biggest Bass we never even felt more warm and fuzzy. =-) We stayed there in hopes to catch another fatty but that never happened, instead we had some very enthusiastic anglers zeroing in on us by casting over Duanes line. Yes they were in the tournament. Duane said, " I know you want to fish here but thats not right!" They didn't say a word but June 14, 2009The last Won Bass tournament was fished Saturday June 13th, 2009 and again Duane and I were left hanging.Blast off time was 5:37 am and we were in the first flight coming in at the end of the day with a minute to spare. We had 18.28 pounds and so did another team! So how do they handle a tie? The way Brett Smith handled it was to break the tie with the team who had the biggest fish. You see that wasn't us but we had 5 good quality fish all about 4ish. If we had their big fish we would of won the tournament. So you can imagine how we were scrambling at the last hour of the day continuing to find at least a 7 pounder which never happened. Isn't that fishing! May 23, 2009"There is no way we are going to win!"So many bed fish and not enough time we thought. We started the morning off with lots of little males from beds but we needed more then just little dudes to pull this off. Duane said, "Lets go...we are leaving." We went to several more spots and we both caught quality fish but still didn't think we had enough to win the tournament. |
