Interview
An Interview with Duane Rhodes.
What was your first experience fishing?
"My uncle took me out fishing when I was 5 years old. We fished out of a creek with these homemade bamboo fishing poles."
Do you remember your first $$$ win? How old were you?
"Yes. It was with Won Bass. I was 27 years old."
What do you like about team tournaments?
"They are more low key."
What would it take for you to fish ProAm?
"Money and sponsors maybe."
What is your goal for next year?
"To win more tournaments and become Anglers of the Year with my wife."
Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now in the Bass fishing world?
"Fishing more professional tournaments."
Who is your favorite Angler? And why?
"Kevin Van Damn because he is humble...unlike some of the other anglers."
Do you have any fishing regrets?
"No."
What advice do you have for Anglers just starting to fish tournaments?
"When you are fishing, fish against the fish not against the other Anglers in the tournament and you will have a better outcome."
How important do you think it is to find out from others where the fish are?
"Always fish what you know best...don't be blinded by what you hear. Trying to jump someone's water is wrong and is not sportsman like."
